Adult Therapy
Clarity where you need it, and space for the real-life chaos that comes with it
Holding it all together can feel impossible
Life can be messy, unpredictable, and overwhelming. Stress, relationships, work, and past experiences all play a role in how you feel day to day. Sometimes this shows up as anxiety, low mood, burnout, or a sense of being stuck. Other times it is harder to put into words, you just know something does not feel right.
You might notice yourself:
Running on empty or feeling constantly drained
Snapping at loved ones or pulling away from people you care about
Trouble sleeping, changes in appetite, or relying on unhealthy coping habits
Feeling weighed down by past trauma or unresolved experiences
Struggling with anxiety, low mood, or a sense of being stuck
Difficulty setting boundaries or saying no
All of that is exhausting and can leave you feeling disconnected and unsure of what to do next. Therapy gives you space to work through the chaos, build coping strategies, and feel more grounded and connected to yourself.
Asking for help isn’t a weakness
Making Life Feel More Manageable
Life rarely slows down on its own. Therapy gives you something most adults do not often get: time and space that is fully yours. It is a chance to step out of survival mode, make sense of what feels overwhelming, and find new ways of coping.
In therapy, you can:
Notice and understand the patterns that keep showing up
Learn practical tools for stress, anxiety, and burnout
Explore the impact of past experiences in a safe way
Strengthen boundaries and relationships
Reconnect with your values and goals
Therapy does not take away your struggles but it changes the way you carry life’s challenges.
The Process
Before we begin, you will complete an informed consent form with intake questions about your history, strengths, and current challenges. The first session we will review consent, go over your background, begin building the therapeutic relationship, and talk through what feels most important to you right now. Together, we will set expectations and create a plan that feels realistic and manageable.
Sessions are typically 50 minutes long and take place in person at Little Tree Psychology in Sherwood Park. Longer 80-minute sessions are also available if preferred. Virtual sessions are also offered for individuals both locally and across Alberta.
Therapy can look different depending on your needs. Some sessions may focus on processing past experiences, while others might center on current stressors, relationships, or learning new coping tools. There is no single way therapy has to look; it adapts to where you are and what you bring into the room.
It is normal to feel unsure about where to start. My role is to create a space that feels steady and supportive, where you can slow down, be heard, and begin making sense of what is going on. Progress takes time, and it is okay if change feels gradual at first.
The Impact Therapy Can Have
Therapy can shift the way you move through daily stress and relationships. Over time, you may find yourself reacting differently to challenges, feeling more steady in your connections, and handling emotions with greater confidence. The shifts are not always dramatic, but they add up to meaningful change.
With consistent support, you might notice:
Feeling calmer and more in control in daily life
Breaking old patterns that no longer serve you
Processing painful experiences with less overwhelm
Communicating more clearly in relationships
Setting boundaries that protect your energy and time
Feeling more connected to yourself and what matters most
Therapy does not promise perfection, but it does make change possible. Step by step, you can rebuild balance, take back control, and create a life that feels lighter and more your own.
My Approach in Practice
Collaborative
We set goals together and focus on what matters most to you. Therapy is a partnership, not a one-way conversation.
Curious
I bring openness and genuine curiosity into sessions, asking thoughtful questions that help uncover patterns, insights, and new ways forward.
Strength-Based
We build on what is already working to create change that feels realistic and lasting.
Whole-Person Focused
Your emotions, relationships, and daily routines are all part of therapy, so growth makes sense in real life.
Support for Survivors
Alongside my general therapy practice, I hold a strong passion for supporting people who have experienced domestic or sexual violence. This is a specialized focus where I integrate trauma processing with compassionate, respectful care. The work is not about rushing or reliving memories. It is about moving at your pace, making sense of what has happened, and beginning to heal in a safe and sustainable way. If you are needing additional support, community resources are available.
